STUDENT LEADERSHIP

Brother Rice High School is well known for our Legacy of Leaders. We strive to make sure that our students are given training and mentoring to develop into leaders of character.  Whether it is a Student Body Officer, a Band Leader, an NHS Officer or team captain, we want to make sure that our students leave here with more than just an education.  We want to make sure they have had a chance to develop leadership skills that can help them serve and lead in their communities and careers.

The Brother Rice High School Leadership Institute was developed in 2007 to promote and develop Christian leadership skills throughout the Brother Rice community. The Institute recognizes Brother Rice alumni who have exhibited tremendous leadership throughout the years and pairs them with current students to develop a mentoring opportunity. Nominees must have graduated from Brother Rice, been an alumnus for 10+ years, and exhibited positive leadership during their time at Rice and in their chosen careers. Current inductees, who are honored at a specially designated area in the school, were chosen by the Leadership Institute Committee.

The primary purpose of the Band System is to further the mission of Brother Rice High School by developing leadership and camaraderie among the students. The Band System embraces our heritage of Christian Brother values by enhancing the pastoral care provided to all our students, strengthening our sense of community, promoting the development of relationships, and providing leadership mentoring to all.
