Transfer Students

Brother Rice accepts transfer students at each semester break (at the beginning of the first semester in mid-August or at the beginning of the second semester at the beginning of January). Seniors are not considered for transfer status.

In order to be considered for transfer acceptance to Brother Rice, you must complete the following process:

  • Schedule an interview with the Admissions Committee by contacting the Enrollment Department at enrollment@brrice.edu.
  • Complete the MHSAA New Student Transfer Information Form and submit to the Enrollment Office at enrollment@brrice.edu. Click here for a downloadable copy.
  • Complete the application:

Once the application is submitted, a shadow visit and interview has been completed the Admissions Committee will review the candidate’s file.

Please note – Scholarship and/or financial aid opportunities are available to transfer students at the beginning of the first semester (late August) only.  PER MHSAA GUIDELINES, BROTHER RICE HIGH SCHOOL DOES NOT OFFER ANY ATHLETIC SCHOLARSHIPS.

International Students

Brother Rice accepts students for an F-1 student visa in the fall semester only.  In order to be considered for international acceptance to Brother Rice, a student must complete the following process by June 1:

  • Completing the application by clicking here.
  • Submit proof of English proficiency by taking the TOEFL and earning a score of 60 or higher.  The TOEFL code for Brother Rice is B738.
  • Send Official Bank Statements in USD and English showing that the student and his family or sponsor can afford the tuition, books and fees, housing, and living expenses of one year at Brother Rice.  The dollar amount that needs to be shown is $27,100.

** Based on the average of what our current international students are paying.  This expense could be more or less depending on the student. Some are living with host families in which they pay the families a stipend of $800-1000 per month.

  • Please keep in mind that Brother Rice does not offer a host family program for international students.
