aplus-in-action

The Achieve Plus (A+) Center is located on the first floor of Old Monastery Hall at Brother Rice High School (BRHS).  It is a student focused support room where one-on-one, small group, and peer-to-peer tutoring is readily accessible.

Beginning September 2016, the center is providing services to freshman.   As possible, services will become available to all Brother Rice students.

Achieve Plus is a supportive learning environment for students who seek additional support in mastering subject area content.

Hours

7:00am – 4:00 pm on school days.

Students may drop-in or make appointments with the Learning Center Director, Mrs. Pamela Ingrody.

A+Tutoring

Tutoring subject areas:  Math, Writing, English, Language, Science, and History.  Other areas that may require instructional support include building study, organizational, and planning skills and effective use of technology for learning including iPads, calculators, and laptops.

Freshman students who seek additional instructional support are welcome during center hours. A+ offers this tutoring for Freshman students free of charge.  Tutors will be scheduled based on student needs before school, during periods 4 – 6, and after school.

Brother Rice High School National Honor Society students will be trained to provide peer-to-peer tutoring and small group study sessions.  During a session, NHS students will help students by integrating difficult content with study skills.  Students will work together in reviewing notes, readings, and strategizing methods to better understand course content.
