Academic Teams
A Brother Rice education does not end when classes dismiss at 2:46pm. We offer our students the opportunity to participate on multiple academic teams:
Debate, Model United Nations, BEAM&R, Quiz Bowl, and Robotics
Brother Rice’s commitment to Academic Excellence is evident by the success of our Academic Teams, which offer our students additional opportunities to compete and represent Brother Rice and The Band of Brothers. Some of the highlights include:
- The Debate team’s World Title in 2008 at the International Debate Education Association
(IDEA) Global Debates and their record setting 14 state championships.
- The Model United Nations team’s 5 National Championships in the North American International Model United Nations (NAIMUN) events in Washington DC
- The BEAM&R Group’s 2012 win at the state DECA competition
- The Mech-Warriors Robotics Team 573 winning the 2007 FIRST Robotics Great Lakes Regional
- The Brother Rice novice Quiz Team won their division and placed second overall in 2009.
