We are pleased to announce that Mr. Edward Okuniewski will be the next Principal of Brother Rice High School, beginning July 1, 2017. Mr. Okuniewski looks forward to joining the community in continuing the rich history and traditions that exist at Brother Rice. President Reidy states that, “Mr. Okuniewski is an experienced educational leader who believes in the pillars of a Rice education. He is a great addition to our school community.”
Mr. Okuniewski joins us from the Huron Valley School District where he serves as Deputy Superintendent. Prior to this, Mr. Okuniewski worked in the L’Anse Creuse Public Schools as a Deputy Superintendent for Curriculum and Instruction and spent seven years as Principal of Lamphere High School in Madison Heights, Michigan. He has a Master’s Degree in Educational Administration from Michigan State University and is pursuing a Doctoral Degree at Eastern Michigan University.
Of working with President Reidy and the dedicated faculty and staff of Brother Rice, he shares, “Together, we will continue to provide unparalleled educational programs for our students, academically and spiritually, as well as through extracurricular activities, sports, and the fine arts, by embracing the Essential Elements of an Edmund Rice Christian Brother Education.”
