Meet the Faculty – August 29, 2023

An evening where parents have the opportunity to walk through their son’s daily schedule and meet his teachers. There will be refreshments and snacks donated by our families and will be served in the Dining Hall for parents to enjoy.

Paint the Roof – September 28, 2023

This a fall tradition for our seniors! The senior class will enjoy a pizza lunch in the parking lot while watching a professional painter paint their graduation year on the roof.

Moms Night Out – October 3, 2023

Traditionally, this evening takes place at Zao Jun New Asia and Sushi in Bloomfield Hills. There is a private area in this restaurant that can be reserved exclusively for the Brother Rice Moms and will accommodate 50 to 60 people.

Faculty and Staff Chaldean Lunch – October 26, 2023

Every year, the Chaldean Moms sponsor and purchase a fabulous Chaldean lunch for the
faculty and staff of Brother Rice. We are so appreciative!

Sip & Shop Event – November 9, 2023

This is our largest fundraiser event of the year and takes place in the Brother Rice gymnasium. There are over 35 vendors selling their items while guests shop, eat a delicious dinner and sip on wine!

Brother Rice Retiree Luncheon – December 5, 2023

Brother Rice hosts a Christmas luncheon for approximately 20 retired faculty and staff members. The lunch takes place in the Brad Simmons ’75 Alumni Hall at Brother Rice.

Paczki Day – February 14, 2024

Fat Tuesday is always the day before Ash Wednesday, the beginning of the Lenten season. It is a long tradition that paczkis are sold to the students, faculty and staff before school begins and during all lunch hours on this day.

Mother and Son Mass & Breakfast – March 10, 2023

This is the most popular event of the year! Mass will take place in the Brother Rice gymnasium with a light breakfast following in the Dining Hall. In addition, a professional photographer will take a beautiful individual black and white photo of Mom and her son in the Brad Simmons ’75 Alumni Hall after Mass.

Mothers’ Club Luncheon – April 30, 2023

This is a very special end of the year lunch celebrating ALL Moms while honoring our senior and incoming freshman Moms. This event takes place off campus at a beautiful venue.

Faculty and Staff Appreciation Week – May 6 – May 10, 2023

This is a weeklong event when the Mothers’ Club recognizes the dedication of the faculty and staff at Brother Rice.  This Chair is responsible for providing a fun gift of appreciation each day, whether it is a luncheon (sponsored by the Chair of the Faculty and Staff Appreciation Committee), a plant, candy, granola bar, smoothies, etc.  A team of two to three Moms is recommended for this week.

Social Media Chair – School Year 2023-24

This Chair is responsible for taking photos at all Mothers’ Club events and uploading the pictures to our social media platforms such as Instagram, Facebook, and Group Me, in addition to sending information to Karen Rottenberk, our Director of Marketing.

Faculty and Staff Appreciation Week – May 6-10

This is a weeklong event where the Mothers’ Club recognizes the dedication of the faculty and staff at Brother Rice. Each day, our faculty and staff receive a fun and/or special gift of appreciation each day.

Faculty and Staff Appreciation Luncheon

Lunches are scheduled for October 19, January 30, March 21, May 6 and May 22
These lunches are a favorite of our school. Typically, there are five faculty and staff appreciation luncheons occurring throughout the year. At the yearend party, a food truck is secured to feed the faculty and staff in celebration for the year end party. Items for these lunches are donated from our parents.
