ENDOWMENT & SCHOLARSHIPS

Many in our community see supporting a Brother Rice education as one of the most important and meaningful ways to make an impact with their philanthropy. We are grateful to those who make providing assistance for deserving students at Brother Rice a priority. It is the single most impactful way you can make a difference in a student’s life.

Each year Brother Rice receives an increasing number of financial aid applications. Despite more than 60% of our students annually receiving need-based financial aid and tuition assistance, the unmet need continues to grow. We never want a student to decide against pursuing a Brother Rice education due to financial reasons. We must remain competitive and diverse and expand our capacity to welcome students whose families would otherwise be unable to afford a Catholic education at Brother Rice High School.

Please join us in making a Brother Rice education possible for a student in need.

ENDOWMENT

Endowed Fund contributions are invested in a diversified portfolio that seeks to protect the principal and generates interest income which is used as an annual scholarship distribution creating a lasting impact.

A LASTING LEGACY

There are several ways to provide funding as an individual or family, often in honor or memory of a loved one. Once a fund is named, a portion of the investment income is distributed as a scholarship.

Endowed fund contributions are invested in a diversified portfolio that seeks to protect the principal and generate interest income used as an annual scholarship distribution.

Establish a Fund | Named Funds

Establishing a fund with the Brother Rice Foundation requires a minimum commitment of $25,000. To formally and publicly establish a Named Fund requires a $100,000 commitment contributable over a mutually agreed-upon timeframe. It is our preference that commitments be fulfilled within five years when possible.

Named Fund

Once the Named Fund reaches $100,000, a portion of the investment income is distributed as a scholarship in accordance with the Foundation spending policy (currently up to 5% of a three-year weighted average of the FYE fund balance).

Partially Endow a Named Fund

To partially endow a Named Fund in perpetuity with the Brother Rice Foundation to cover at least half the cost of tuition for one Brother Rice student requires a $250,000 commitment contributable over a mutually agreed-upon timeframe.

Fully Endow a Named Fund

To fully endow a Named Fund in perpetuity with the Brother Rice Foundation to cover the full cost of tuition for at least one Brother Rice student – requires a $500,000 commitment contributable over a mutually agreed-upon timeframe.

SCHOLARSHIPS

A Four-Year Scholarship is a commitment to support the financial need of a student during his time at Brother Rice.  Through your annual giving each year, your full gift makes an immediate impact.

AN IMMEDIATE IMPACT

Current use scholarships are directly expendable funds that make an immediate impact in the full amount of the gift. Current use scholarships compliment Endowed Funds by allowing the Brother Rice Leadership to be nimble and responsive to the current need of the moment, ensuring accessibility to as many students as possible at Brother Rice.

Establish a Four-Year Scholarship

Your annual donation contributes to the cost of a student’s tuition and fees for his four years at Brother Rice. Once a student is admitted and qualifies for tuition assistance, Brother Rice is committed to assuring his family that he will receive the awarded aid for all four of his years at Brother Rice.

—  Sponsor a Student – Full Tuition*

—  Sponsor a Student – Half Tuition*

—  Provide Annual Tuition Assistance:
