There are many things that make a Brother Rice student who he is. None of which are average. We encourage our students to develop their interests and pursuits through experiential learning opportunities, helping them discover hidden talents and passions. Every student’s path is different and we believe that is a good thing. We also believe that only when you are 100% YOU, are you 100% Brother Rice!
“Brother Rice means the world to me. The lessons I have learned, the friends I have made, and the people I have met through my experiences at Brother Rice are unmatched. My past four years have truly been the best years of my life, and I would not trade them for anything.” — Hunter Polonkey ’23

Leaders, Camaraderie, Pride
As a student, Brother Rice has pushed me to become the best academic I can be. I have learned self-discipline and hard work in the classroom. In addition, I have been thoroughly prepared for college through our immense network of amazing teachers, counselors, and staff.
All of the teachers and coaches at Brother Rice are amazing, but if I had to pick just one, it would be Coach Garippa(Lacrosse). Coach Garippa pushes me to be not only the best player I can be but also the best man I can be. Throughout my three years on varsity, we have formed a great relationship, and he has always had my back. He expects greatness and pushes every single player on the team to be the best version of themselves. Coach Garippa has been an influential mentor to me and has impacted my life in countless ways.
My favorite place on campus is Ambrose Field. I have spent countless hours on Ambrose Field. Whether it be practicing, running, or playing lacrosse with friends, I feel that every time I step on Ambrose, I have an opportunity to better myself and grow. So many memories throughout my four years have been made on this field, and also lessons that I will take with me throughout my entire life.
My favorite thing about Brother Rice is the community. The friends I have made will go on to be some of my closest friends for the rest of my life. The extensive alumni network is unimaginable, and no one thinks twice about helping a fellow warrior brother. One of the most impressive things is that all of the alumni give back to the Brother Rice community, whether it be through coaching, teaching, alumni events, or donations. The alumni want to give back so that other young men can have the same amazing experience as they did themselves.
In my time at Brother Rice, I have grown in numerous ways. I have learned how to be a great leader in the classroom, on the field, and in my community. Brother Rice has also taught me about brotherhood and the importance of being there for someone in a time of need. It has instilled the importance of hard work and taught me how to balance school and athletics. I strive to demonstrate the R.I.C.E pillars of respect, integrity, character, and excellence in my everyday life. I will be forever grateful for the lessons I have learned and the man I have become because of my Brother Rice Community.
