100% Brother Rice Spotlight – Mrs. Nicole Battista

There are many things that make a Brother Rice student who he is. None of which are average. We encourage our students to develop their interests and pursuits through experiential learning opportunities, helping them discover hidden talents and passions. Every student’s path is different and we believe that is a good thing. We also believe that only when you are 100% YOU, are you 100% Brother Rice!

The same is true for our faculty and staff. Every adult on campus is fully committed to helping each student become his best self, and they do this by being theirs.

“I started teaching at Brother Rice four years ago. Since then, I have also been the moderator of the Spanish Honor Society. I enjoy coordinating and taking students on the annual study abroad trip to Spain each June. Being selected as the Brother Rice Teacher of the Year for the Archdiocese of Detroit this past year was one of my most proud moments. I also received the Global Seal of Biliteracy in Spanish last year. I spend a lot of time outside the classroom at ice rinks with my son and daughter. I love to travel, read, and shop! I studied Spanish, Political Science, and Secondary Education at Albion College as an undergraduate and English as a second language/linguistics as a graduate student. Being a teacher in Catholic education is my true vocation and calling! I love my students, and I love this community!”  — Mrs. Nicole Battista
