Student-led Athletic Shoe Drive

Brother Rice is proud to announce the formation of the Sports Equipment Foundation. This is a student-led initiative that began when juniors Graham Ong and Patrick O’Leary developed the idea to help other teenage boys in need.

This is a great opportunity for the community to clean out their closets, their sports equipment lockers, and gym bags and donate gently used athletic shoes or shoes that are just too small. The intent of this drive is to collect shoes to be donated to teenage kids in the Detroit public school system, primarily Detroit Denby High School.

We will be collecting your gently used shoes or cleats during the dates of Monday, November 18 through Tuesday, November 26. Donations can be dropped into a box placed outside the Front Office or in Mr. Dyar’s classroom, C-124.
