Emergency Drill Reporting
The school conducts regular safety drills to ensure our students and staff are prepared for various emergency scenarios. These include fire, tornado, and lockdown/security drills held at various times throughout the school year. These exercises allow us to test our procedures and ensure a swift, coordinated response to potential threats or hazards. To provide transparency regarding our preparedness, we maintain a public log of all completed drills. You can view our current and archived drill logs here.
Notice of Asbestos in School Building
The school has been inspected for the presence of asbestos-containing materials as required by the Asbestos Hazard Emergency Response Act (AHERA). An Asbestos Management Plan is available for review by contacting Tim Kury, Facility Director, at 248-833-2300.
Notice of Pesticide Use
As part of our Integrated Pest Management (IPM) program pesticides may periodically be applied to buildings and grounds. In accordance with the Natural Resources and Environmental Protection Act (NREPA), families will receive advance notice of any non-emergency application at least 48 hours in advance via postings at the primary building entrances and through the daily email newsletter. The IPM records and management plan are available for review by contacting the Main Office.
Secure Firearm Storage
To ensure the safety of our students and community, Michigan's secure storage law (MCL 380.1313b) requires that schools provide information regarding the legal requirements for the secure storage of firearms. The law requires firearms to be locked and unloaded whenever a minor is, or is likely to be, present on the premises. For best practices and guidance on complying with these safety standards, please review the resources provided by the state at Michigan.gov/SafeStorage.
Water Filtering and Testing
In accordance with the Clean Drinking Water Access Act (2023 PA 154), we have implemented a Water Management Plan that identifies all water outlets used for human consumption and ensures they are equipped with certified lead-reducing filters. Our full Drinking Water Management Plan and recent test results are available for review by contacting the Main Office.
