Brother Rice is committed to providing our students a chance for artistic growth. We offer fine and preforming arts including:
Marian Rice Players (MRP) is the performing arts company of Marian and Brother Rice High Schools. This group stages a play each fall and a musical each spring in the Marian auditorium. Outstanding performances include not only the talent of the student actors, but the dedication and skills of stage crews, costume committees, lighting staffs, production people, and the many other support groups necessary for producing excellent theater. Concert Band: A concert ensemble that plays pieces of all types for a wind band instrumentation.
Jazz Band: A small ensemble that explores standard jazz repertoire, blues, rock, and funk while learning the art of improvisation.
Drumline: A class accepting both beginners and experienced musicians who want to learn how to play marching and concert percussion instruments.
Warrior Worship: A praise band made up of volunteer students and staff that lead worship for every school mass.
Pep Band: An ensemble of volunteer students that support our Warriors at football and basketball home games.
AP Music Theory: An in-depth class looking at the compositional and theoretical approaches to Western Classical Music while also building aural skills. Counts as a semester and a half of college level music theory.
