Service
At Brother Rice, we ignite a passion for making a positive impact in the world through service, leadership, and embodying the values of Respect, Integrity, Character, and Excellence.
At Brother Rice, we answer Blessed Edmund's call to serve our neighbor in the love of God.  Every Brother Rice student seeks to serve the Lord in their neighbor by performing 20 hours of service to the community each year.  Service to others has had a lasting effect on our students.
Students work in their parishes, healthcare facilities, or approved charitable organizations and may complete five hours at Brother Rice working for the school community.
Fulfilling the Third Essential Element of an Edmund Rice Christian Brother Education, 'Standing in Solidarity with those Marginalized by Poverty and Injustice,' many of our students complete their service individually or as part of a group.

Students should check with their theology teachers to ensure their service is acceptable before starting long-term projects.  Students must upload their service hours to the Naviance/X2Vol website to be verified and approved. You must have the email from the person who supervised your service for verification. A form to gather the information needed is available in the Theology classrooms, The Campus Ministry Office or by downloading it here.
Any questions about service work should be directed to the Campus Ministry Office, at 248-833-2271 by contacting Mr. Thane Hall.
