The Brotherhood Experience at Brother Rice is truly unparalleled. It is more than just being part of a school. It is about becoming part of a family—a family that nurtures, challenges, and inspires each student to be their best self.

The brotherhood is truly something more here. Remarkable boys transform into extraordinary young men, sharing traditions that foster a profound sense of belonging. These bonds of friendship extend beyond four years—they are lifelong.

From the moment students step onto campus, they become part of a family that emphasizes camaraderie, support, and personal growth. They develop new skills and discover their passions. This growth is cultivated and strengthened through the Band of Brothers program, a cornerstone of the Brotherhood Experience that ensures each student is supported in their journey toward becoming their best self.

From spirited school events, extracurricular activities, and athletic competitions to classroom discussions, community service projects, and spiritual activities, students share experiences that forge lifelong connections. These traditions instill a sense of pride and unity, and reinforce the Pillars of RICE – Respect, Integrity, Character, Excellence.

The Band of Brothers

The Band of Brothers program enhances the Brotherhood Experience and provides opportunities for students to interact across grade levels, benefiting the community with increased school spirit, positive peer pressure, social connectedness, and healthy competition.

The Band of Brothers program is designed to foster deep, meaningful relationships among students. The program is a mentorship initiative designed to foster a supportive and inclusive school community. The program mixes upperclassmen with underclassmen to guide and support them through their high school journey. The program emphasizes promoting academic excellence and encouraging personal growth.

Students are divided into six bands and remain in these groups until graduation -- each band is sectioned into smaller mentor groups. Through regular mentor group meetings, group activities, and community service projects, the program aims to instill values and cultivate a positive school culture. It helps new students acclimate to high school life while empowering older students to take on leadership roles and make a meaningful impact on their peers.
