Boxing Night Announcement

Muhammad Ali vs. Joe Frazier

Sugar Ray Leonard vs. Tommy Hearns

Evander Holyfield vs. Riddick Bowe

Michael Hamilton ’08 vs. Jason Kelmigian ‘10

The first three represent some of the greatest rematches of our times, and the fourth represents the most anticipated rematch in Boxing Night history.

Yes, you read it correctly; Hamilton and Kelmigian will be entering the ring for one last hurrah!

Friday, February 4th, 2022, will mark the return of the Alumni Association’s marquee event, Boxing Night. Two years ago, attendees were treated to the greatest alumni bout in Boxing Night history as defending champion Michael Hamilton ’08 was defeated by top challenger Jason Kelmigian ’10. The match went the three-round distance before the judges landed on Kelmigian as the 2020 Boxing Night champion.

February 2022 will give Hamilton one last shot at the belt and allows Kelmigian to defend his title and legacy as one of the greatest boxers in Boxing Night history.

This night of fun and fellowship for the men of the Brother Rice community includes collegiate boxing bouts with the University of Michigan Boxing Club and numerous colleges from around the country, as well as various casino games and much, much more! Boxing Night is the one evening next year that you won’t want to miss!

All proceeds from this event benefit the Alumni Scholarship fund and helps deserving students attend Brother Rice.  Questions regarding this event should be directed to Alumni Director, Dan McGrath 248.833.2016.
