Edmund Rice Advocacy Person of the Year
An honorable man is a compassionate man. An honorable man is a holy man. An honorable man is a charitable man. An honorable man stands in solidarity with those marginalized by poverty or injustice.
In a world where compassion, holiness, and solidarity shine as beacons of honor, it is with great pride that we celebrate the exemplary contributions of a remarkable individual within our Brother Rice school community. Today, we spotlight Mr. Thane Hall as the distinguished recipient of the Edmund Rice Advocacy Person of the Year Award, a testament to his unwavering commitment to the values at the heart of our founder Blessed Edmund Rice, and the governing province of the Edmund Rice Christian Brothers North America. (ERCBNA).
The ERCBNA Advocacy Office annually recognizes one exceptional staff member or teacher from among all of the Christian Brother schools spanning the United States and Canada. This individual embodies the essence of advocacy and demonstrates a profound dedication to sharing the Christian Brothers’ enduring commitment to justice, compassion, and solidarity. This year, that honor rightfully rests upon Mr. Hall.
President Reidy and Principal Okuniewski had the privilege of participating in a private ceremony, along with Mr. Sean D’Alfonso, Advocacy Coordinator for the Christian Brothers North American Province and Province Leader, Br. Peter Zawot. Together, they had the distinct honor of presenting this award to the remarkable member of our school community whose actions resonate with the living charism of Blessed Edmund Rice.
Mr. Hall has illuminated our path with his exceptional work in advocacy, particularly through his involvement with immigration projects linked to the transformative Brownsville, Texas immersion trip. His actions align harmoniously with the principles upheld by Brother Edmund Rice himself, reflecting his deep-rooted dedication to both speaking and embodying the values we hold dear.
Offering his proud sentiments, President Reidy shared, “Today, it is a privilege to publicly announce Mr. Thane Hall as the recipient of the Edmund Rice Advocacy Person of the Year Award. His actions not only speak volumes, but they also exemplify the spirit of advocacy, compassion, and genuine commitment that characterize our school’s mission.”
We extend our heartfelt congratulations to Mr. Hall on this well-deserved accolade. May his journey continue to inspire us all to walk the path of honor, compassion, and solidarity in the true spirit of Edmund Rice.
