Warrior for a Day

Brother Rice encourages all eighth grade students to visit our school and become a “Warrior For A Day.”  Students and their families will have the opportunity to hear from school administrators and tour campus. Once parent(s) depart, students will visit with the Brother Rice student body and faculty, and engage in classroom activities with a student host. During this visit, students will have the opportunity to complete their Admissions Interview.

Warrior for a Day Schedule:

Please arrive by 8:45AM. Program will begin at 9:00AM:

9:00AM Prayer and Welcome
9:20AM Tour
9:45AM Campus Engagement
10:00AM Parent(s) will depart and our student visitor is paired up with a current Brother Rice student whom he will follow for the school day
12:10PM Interview with President Reidy (8th graders and transfers only)
12:30PM Parents may pick up their son in the Edmund Rice Foyer or the front parking lot

Important Information:

  • Lunch will be provided by Brother Rice.
  • We recommend that visitors bring some school materials (a book to read, homework, etc.) in case the Brother Rice host student has an exam or study period during the day.
  • Student will be given a drawstring backpack upon arrival.
  • Brother Rice has a dress code.  We would recommend visiting students wear solid color dress pants with a belt, a dress shirt (any color), tie, and dress shoes.

Please Note:
Eighth grade students will be paired with a student who is an underclassman (usually a freshman). We feel that this gives the most accurate representation of an incoming student’s school day. Not all of our underclassmen have signed up to participate in the Warrior for a program, so while you may request a specific student, this is not a guarantee.

Each student host is responsible for one guest at a time; therefore, if you have requested a student host that has already been paired with a visitor, the Enrollment Office will find another host with similar interests.
