How has Brother Rice helped you improve as a student?
As a student coming in from a public middle school, the new study habits I learned at Brother Rice helped me a lot. Coming to a private school was a wake-up call. Thank you to Mr. Filo and Sister Marie. They said to study every subject every night, and at first, I did not absorb what they were sharing. After some academic challenges, I tried it out, and these habits have helped me ever since!
Who is your favorite teacher or coach?
Mrs. Beyer is my favorite teacher. On my first day of orientation, she was the first teacher I met, and she shared that I could come to her whenever I needed help. She is someone I can always count on for help with schoolwork and has been a big part of my success at Brother Rice. Mrs. Beyer is someone I can rely on with anything related to school or outside of it and is always looking to have my best interest.
What’s your favorite place on campus?
My favorite place is the gymnasium. I have a lot of memorable moments in the gym. It’s somewhere in the school I can go and feel at ease and push myself to a different level. Having access to the gym has helped me as a player and person.
What’s your favorite thing about Brother Rice?
My favorite thing about Brother Rice is that everyone is here to accomplish something, and not everyone has the same goal. But everyone is driven in what they want to achieve. It has always helped me push myself to become a better student.
What are some of the ways you have grown during your time at Brother Rice?
Brother Rice has helped me grow in most aspects of life. It has taught me how to manage my time and put my priorities in place to accomplish what I want. It is also one of the first places I have been pushed academically, which helped me realize that everyone here wants the best for you. Lastly, in sports, it has helped train the mental side of my brain. There is a lot of talent in the Catholic League, and every day there is a challenge ahead, and learning the mental side of the game when it comes to preparing is essential.
