Who is your favorite teacher or coach?
I honestly cannot choose just one teacher or coach, so here are some that have influenced me the most:
Mr. Venos: Mr. Venos has been my religion teacher for my junior and senior years. He has taught me much about life and helped deepen my thinking in numerous subjects. I am thankful for him and how much care he puts into his students, and wanting to make sure they can be the best versions of themselves.
Mr. Ciarvino: Mr. C is, without a doubt, one of the best teachers I have ever had. APUSH is a challenging class to take or teach. However, Mr. C was able to get through all the material, prepare it interestingly, and teach it so that I still retain the information today. He pushes his students extremely hard and helps them reach achievements they did not even know they could reach. I am super grateful to have had a class with him.
Coach Palmer (Basketball): – He has impacted me significantly. He truly cares for every one of his players. He coaches every one of his players with extremely high expectations. He knows what it is like to be a student and a high-level athlete, so he is someone I can trust to talk to. He wants his players to succeed in life and instills traits such as discipline and caring for something bigger than yourself.
Coach K (Football): – I came to Brother Rice with basketball being my primary sport, but after my sophomore year, I found a passion for football. Coach K improved my knowledge of the game and got my recruitment process rolling, providing good advice and direction. We built a good relationship where he trusted me to be a big part of the 2022 football team.
What’s your favorite place on campus?
My favorite place on campus is the newly renovated Center for Learning & Achievement. I enjoy it because I have found it to be a place where I can come after school to lock in and get my work done diligently and efficiently. It is usually quiet, and it is fun to interact with other students who come through the CLA to get their work done as well.
What’s your favorite thing about Brother Rice?
My favorite thing about Brother Rice is the community. The students, teachers, fans, and alumni network are all bonded together in what Rice stands for and take extreme pride in the school. The people that attend and work at Brother Rice are some of the best people I know. I have met some of the most intelligent students, been taught by some of the best teachers, and witnessed some of the best athletes. I have also found a circle of people I will be close with for the rest of my life.
