Under the direction of Head Coach Bob Stark ’64 since 1968, the Cross Country program at Brother Rice has consistently produce excellent student-athletes. Stark, along with Assistant Coach Denny King ’64, have been mainstays at the school as coaches and teachers. They bring an Alumni prospective to coaching to make sure that they are developing the young men’s soul, body and mind. Over the last 40 years, no other program has qualified for the state meet, as a team, than Brother Rice.
Cross Country alumni have gone on to significantly impact prestigious programs throughout the nation. He went on to run for the University of Tennessee and the United States Junior Team. John Cowan ‘91 was a two time state champion before running for The University of Notre Dame.
