Biography
Rick Palmer was hired in 2018 to lead the Warriors and has quickly elevated the program into one of Michigan’s premier teams. In his time at the helm, he has rapidly climbed the ranks in career wins at the school. Under Palmer’s leadership, the Warriors have captured four district titles, a regional championship, and the 2023 Catholic League championship. In 2023, Brother Rice also won the Operation Friendship Championship for the first time in school history. Palmer’s success extends to player development—since taking over the program, he has coached eight Division I players and numerous other collegiate athletes.
The 2023 Catholic League Coach of the Year played college basketball at Albion College (2003–2006), serving as team captain his junior and senior seasons. Palmer brings over 15 years of coaching experience at both the college and high school levels. He began his career at Lakeland College and Bowling Green State University, where he developed his foundation in player development and game strategy.
Coach Palmer resides locally with his wife, Megan, and their three children: Trey, Maggie, and Layla.
