This evening is a chance for you and your parents to Discover all that Brother Rice has to offer including academics, athletics, campus ministries, the new Center for Learning & Achievement, the Band of Brothers, and other signature features. This evening will begin with a welcome address by our President, Mr. Tom Reidy, followed by an admissions and financial aid session. After that you and your parents will attend three 20-minute classroom sessions on teacher expectations, college counselling, the student-athlete experience, the Band of Brothers, and much more.

6:25 – 6:45 Admissions & Financial Aid @ Brother Rice

6:50 – 7:10 Session #1 (Pick one session to attend)

  • Band of Brothers
    You will hear from Brother Rice Student Leaders as they discuss the school wide system that helps our students create leadership opportunities as well as growth in camaraderie across class lines.
  • Explore the New Center for Learning & Achievement
    The Director of the Center for Learning and Achievement will provide information and details about the four Institutes within the Center and how they will be integrated into a Brother Rice education. New leadership courses in our curriculum, a Broadcasting Booth and many more exciting additions to the Brother Rice experience will be shared during this session.

  • High School Teacher Expectations
    Sometimes the biggest transition students have from middle school to high school is the expectations of the teachers.  Hear from a veteran Brother Rice faculty member about his student expectations and how he helps students achieve academic excellence.

7:15 – 7:35 Session #2 (Pick one session to attend)

  • Band of Brothers
    You will hear from Brother Rice Student Leaders as they discuss the school wide system that helps our students create leadership opportunities as well as growth in camaraderie across class lines.

  • The High School Transition & Academic Success
    You will hear from our Vice Principal on how Brother Rice assists students in their academic transition to high school and prepares them to be academically successful.  This session reviews how students are recommended for freshman courses at Brother Rice.
  • Roundtable with President Reidy and Principal Okuniewski
    You will hear from our President and Principal in a roundtable discussion.  Topics will include the school’s philosophy, academics and new initiatives.
  • Student Panel Discussion
    You will hear from a panel of students who will discuss all aspects of student life.  After the students provide brief introductions and a snapshot of their Brother Rice experience so far, the students will take questions from the audience.

7:40 – 8:00 Session #3

  • Become a Well-Rounded Student @ Brother Rice
    You will be introduced to the variety of student organizations and sports that we offer at Brother Rice. Robotics, eSports, Debate, Basketball, Football and Tennis are just a few of the many opportunities we offer. We want your high school experience to not only be about what you learn in the classroom but also about what you discover outside of the classroom. Getting involved in student activities will help you fully enrich your experience and become a well-rounded student.
