Biography

Scott Kolesky was hired at Brother Rice HS in 2019 to rebuild the Warrior wrestling program. Under his leadership the Warriors ended a decade- long district championship drought in his first season (2020). In 2022 the Warriors won the regional title advancing to the team state finals for the first time in 32 years.

The Warrior program continued to succeed under his leadership becoming catholic league finalists in 2020 and 2023. Post season success continued with district titles in 2022, 2023, 2024, 2025, and regional titles in 2022, 2023, and 2024. The Warriors made 3 consecutive appearances at the team state finals.

During his tenure at Brother Rice the Warriors advanced 40 wrestlers to the individual regional tournament, 20 wrestlers to the individual state tournament with 10 reaching all-state honors along with one state champion.

In 2023 and 2024 Kolesky won consecutive regional coach of the year awards. Honored for building a winning culture that emphasizes leadership, personal responsibility, and commitment to the team. Kolesky currently has a 106-48 record at Brother Rice along with 447 career wins. He has coached 9 NCAA wrestlers and 19 NCAA athletes.

Coach Kolesky resides in Birmingham with his wife Allison and two sons.
