Financial Aid and Scholarships for College

The University of Michigan Club of Greater Detroit is sponsoring twelve unique scholarship opportunities for quality citizen-students. Descriptions of the various scholarships and applications are available at www.umclubgreaterdetroit.org (January 13, 2017 deadline).

Michigan State University Alumni Club of Oakland County – Oakland County high school seniors who have been accepted at, and plan on attending, MSU in the fall of 2017 are invited to apply for a nonrenewable $1,500 scholarship.  This scholarship is NOT based on financial need but on grades, test scores and recommendations.  Applications and details are available in the Guidance Department or online at  www.MSUOakland.com (March 17, 2017 deadline).

The Chaldean American Ladies of Charity/United Community Family Services (“UCFS”) are proud to announce the Nadia Atisha Education Fund and the Samir A. Paulus Scholarship Fund to eligible Chaldean students.  These scholarships provide financial support to students of the Chaldean community in the state of Michigan.  Please visit www.ucfamilyservices.org for complete details (May 5, 2017 deadline).

Del Papa-Grimaldi Endowment Fund Scholarship (administered by the Archdiocese of Detroit)- the main criteria for this scholarship are good moral character, financial need and demonstrated industriousness.  “This grant should not be sought by, nor awarded to, students for whom work is a hobby or luxury, but rather by those who have worked because of necessity.  All manner of work is acceptable, including significant household responsibilities”.  Special attention is paid to the “Aspiration Goals” essay and references.  Guidelines and applications are available in the Guidance Department (May 31, 2017 deadline).
